Express Entry

Overview

What this means for you.

Express Entry is the online system the Canadian government uses to manage permanent residence applications from skilled workers. It covers three programs: Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker and Federal Skilled Trades.

Your profile is given a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score based on your age, education, language results, work experience and adaptability factors. Higher scores get Invitations to Apply (ITAs) in regular draws.

We do not just create a profile and wait. We coach you on which CRS factors you can still improve — a better IELTS score, an extra language, a provincial nomination, or a job offer — so your score actually moves.

Eligibility

Who can apply?

A quick checklist to see if this is the right pathway for you.

  • Language test results: IELTS General, CELPIP, TEF or TCF

  • Proof of funds (waived if you have a valid Canadian job offer)
  • Clean criminal and medical record

Process

How we move your file forward.

Step 01

Honest CRS scoring

We calculate your real CRS score and tell you upfront whether you are likely to be invited.

Step 02

Create your profile

We draft your Express Entry profile and submit it to the pool with every claim properly documented.

Step 03

Boost your score

Provincial nominations (especially Alberta AAIP), category-based draws and language retests are our main levers.

Step 04

Respond to your ITA

Once invited, you have 60 days to submit a complete e-APR. We pre-build your document package so the deadline is easy.

There is no fixed cut-off. Recent general draws have landed between 470 and 545. Category-based draws (healthcare, trades, French speakers, STEM) often invite people in the 380 to 470 range.

Most invited candidates get their permanent residence decision within 6 months of submitting their e-APR. Building your profile and waiting for an ITA can take anywhere from a few weeks to a year depending on your score.

No. A valid Canadian job offer can add up to 50 CRS points, but most invited candidates do not have one. Canadian work experience and a provincial nomination usually matter more.

AAIP is Alberta's provincial nomination stream linked to Express Entry. A nomination adds 600 CRS points — effectively a guaranteed ITA. We specialize in AAIP because we are based in Edmonton.

Yes. Your spouse and dependent children are included on the same application and become permanent residents at the same time as you. You must declare them even if they are not coming with you right away.
